Marvel Select Hulkbuster Review

Marvel Select's Hulkbuster is a great addition to their line.  He is detailed and painted well and has a really good articulation scheme for a big bulky figure including Ankle pivots.  He might be a little small compared with some Marvel Select Hulks.  Personally I think Hulkbuster should be a little smaller then Hulk (unlike the movie version) so I am happy with his size.  He also fits great into a Marvel Legends Iron Man display.  Great figure with alot of fun play value.  Now I need to see if I can make some articulated fingers for him...

From the Front.

From the back.

From the Top.

Size Comparison with Marvel Select Savage Hulk and Marvel Select Grey Hulk.  He is not as big as the Select Hulks but it still works for me.  I personally thought the movie version of Hulkbuster was too large.

Size Comparison with Marvel Select Falcon and Marvel Select Ultron.

Size Comparison with Marvel Legends Scarlet Witch and Marvel Legends Mark 42 Iron Man.  I think he fits in perfectly with Marvel Legends.

Marvel Select Ultimate Hulk Review

This figure must have just had a rerelease because I just picked him up at my local comic book store this week.  Overall I am really happy with him and it is nice to have a grey hulk represented on my shelf.

Pros:
Great sculpt – detailed and a good likeness
Good paint – on the rerelease anyway (I know there are some older figures that have a horrible dark grey paint app)
Good size – fits in well in either the Legends or Select scale

Cons
Articulation – It is serviceable and you can get him into several different poses but the lack of knee and elbow joints really hurts him.  Considering he was made back when Select was making figures that were closer to statues his articulation isn’t half bad.

He feels a tad hollow compared to recent Marvel selects.  It doesn’t feel like he is going to break apart he just feels very light.

Black Widow

This is a custom Marvel Legends Black Widow.  She is made from the Hope Summers figure.  I filed off her shin guards and added sculpted boots, belt, wrist blasters, and collar.  I added a black widow emblem to her back as well.

These photos show the process of filing and sculpting before I painted.
