Tie Interceptor Finished

I finally finished up my Black Series scale Tie Fighter Interceptor.  While I was originally planning for a fighter I made the last minute decision to go ahead with the interceptor - basically because I like the design of the interceptor so much better and I don't know if I will get around to making multiple of these things.  Once I get my x-wing dug back out of moving boxes - I'll show a side by side comparison.

The wings are made out of plywood and chipboard that was laser cut into the various pieces.  Some progress pics:
I built some supports (in black) to get the angle right for the wings as the glue dried.

The blue and green pieces were 3d printed with a makerbot.

  2. It didn't cost me much in terms of cash. I had to buy the plywood sheets ($12) and the paint ($7) - that's it really. My work has the 3d printers (and they let me have the filament).

It cost me a lot of time. Lots of hours modeling and lots of hours printing.
